Our Story

Sustainable farming, Quirky accommodation & achievable friendly training

Weir End Farm is nestled in the heart of the Wye Valley just outside Ross-on-Wye. The farm is around 500 acres & is tenanted from The Duchy of Cornwall.

The Hunter Blair family have been farming at Weir End Farm since 1968, when Graham first got the tenancy. In 2012 Ally completed succession of tenancy & now lives at the farm with wife, Annie & daughter India.

We are predominantly an arable farm & have been practicing reduced tillage since 2019 with the view to making the crops we grow as sustainable as possible.
In 2017 Annie set up an equestrian enterprise using her experience as a riding instructor which is run from the 60 x 25m Martin Collins arena.

In 2020 we moved into glamping with Bertha's Box a converted Bedford Horse lorry. In 2021 we built & installed Shepherd's View, two huts linked uniquely together with a SkyBridge to proved extra space for cosy weekends.

The farm has featured in four television series. First Time Farmers series 1 & 2 & most recently Born Mucky - Life on the farm series 1 & 2.
